Looking down the great hall in Moria, we see an army of orcs chasing after the Fellowship. This is after the battle in Balin's tomb.

The orcs numbers swell as the Fellowship continues to run. This is right before the Fellowship is surrounded and the Balrog first makes its appearence.

Soldiers of Numenor? They draw their bows. The standard behind them bears the Seven Stars. Their helms have the small stylised wings of Elendil and the kings from across the sea.

The Uruk-Hai charge the Fellowship. Most likely at Amon Hen.

A stupendous bridge over a chasm in Moria. There's a rift in it....is that tiny gleam of light on one side half the Fellowship? And there's the rest of them...on the other side!

The bridge begins to come apart as a centrespan plummets down under the impact of the approaching Balrog's footsteps.

Aragorn, realizing he is on a very unstable piece of stairway...

leaps towards Frodo.

The entire stairway begins to crumble as the Fellowship races down.

The scale is vast, the Fellowship seem swallowed up in this immense mine of Moria.

Gandalf, in the Mines of Moria, facing the Balrog.

Voiceover (Gandalf): "You..."

Voiceover (Gandalf): "...shall not..."

The Fellowship stands paralysed in the gloom behind Gandalf, whose tiny light is all that stands before the giant shadow of the Balrog on the right.

Notice how flames spew forth as the Balrog foot hits the ground.

The flames rise up to almost obscure Gandalf.
