One of the best things about J.R.R. Tolkien and the wonderful world he has created is the fact that fans of all ages can participate and appreciate his works. This is the case with Helen. Its exciting to see someone so young approach this contest with such honesty and excitement. I would love to think that I am the biggest Tolkien fan in the world, but nothing I can say or show you can prove it, apart from I am a HUGE fan. Aren't we all? Everyone who has read Tolkien claims to be his biggest fan, but it's a hard thing to prove, even for the biggest. I am only 13 and can only state the simple things that I would try to claim the title of "Tolkines biggest fan" with, but none will compare to many of the other entrys and I think none really matter we can not stress in words or pictures how much we feel for something Firstly I have finally convinced most people I know to call me Pippin! I have recently been on holiday and decided to leave my beloved book at home for fear of it being lost or damaged, on the day I left I cried my eyes out when I gave it to my mum to take home with her and warned her to guard it with her life. I am partially sighted and many of my relatives were concerned when I was reading such little print in my copy of Lord of the Rings, but it didn't matter to me, I just hung on in there. I update myself with the latest movie news of The One Ring.net daily. I WILL live in a Hobbit Hole. I WILL have a pony called Bill, a horse called Shadowfax and a son called Frodo. I WILL have read Lord of the Rings at least 9 times before I'm 20. And finally I will learn the Cirth and Tengwar from the apendix in Lord of the Rings. Not very convincing, but like I said it's a hard title to claim, if not impossible as fans have so many different things to say on the matter of them being the biggest fan. Some greater than others. But the best things are not always plain to see. I don't know what makes the biggest fan only what makes big fans. And thats Tolkien himself, he's the man behind it all. After all that yada yada, that is my entry and I know that the prize probubly won't be winging it's way to me as I have hardly stressed my love for Lord of the Rings. I would love the title. home | contact us | back to top | site map | search | join list | Content Rating This site is maintained and updated by fans of The Lord of the Rings, and is in no way affiliated with Tolkien Enterprises or the Tolkien Estate.
