Washington Post calls TORn panel a highlight!

In case Comic-Con isn't mainstream enough for you, The Washington Post is
previewing it weeks in advance and they singled out TheOneRing.net panel as
one of the Thursday highlights. Check it out! At the Weta section of the
Dark Horse booth TORn will have staffers about and it looks as if TheOneRing
will have three shirt styles this year including one with an amazing Daniel
Falconer rendition of LOTR's own dark lord.

Weta invites fans to visit at Comic-Con

Weta writes: The team at Weta would like to welcome fans on TheOneRing.net
to come visit us at Comic Con. Attending from Weta will be Richard Taylor
(Creative Director and Co-founder of Weta), Greg Broadmore (Lead conceptual
designer for District 9 and creator of Dr Grordbort's) and his beard, Dave
Tremont (Senior Model Maker, and builder of Grond from LOTR) and his tools,
Ri Streeter (who "really" runs the workshop) with her I-phone that never
stops, Kate McCormick (nice, helpful person lurking behind the counter) and
Tim Launder (tall guy) with his long arms. Please come and say Hi, and tell

Sideshow pre-orders the Gandalf Statue as part of Online Comic-Con

Sideshow Collectibles has started their Comic-Con celebration early with the
launch of their month-long Online Comic-Con. Each day they are revealing new
products, exclusive discounts, and a slew of contests and giveaways. Today's
super secret product release was the Gandalf Statue, part of their recently
launched Lord of the Rings Statue line-up. These statues, like the previous
Sideshow/Weta line-up, are made of heavyweight polystone. Unlike the past
line-up, the hope is to capture the essence of each character instead of
simply capturing a moment from the films. They released Aragorn as Strider a
few weeks ago, teased Legolas in a video, and now have made the Gandalf
statue fully available for pre-order today. We'll keep you updated on any
other Lord of the Rings related events during their Online Comic-Con.

TORn goes to the King Kong 360 3-D Premiere!

It's here! KING KONG 360 3-D opens TODAY at Universal Studios Hollywood! To
launch the highly-anticipated, next-generation attraction featuring the
famed 25' tall gorilla, Hollywood stars, and TORn's very own Quickbeam,
gathered at the premiere to be the first visitors to take the ride. Peter
Jackson, appeared 3-D via an enormous HD flat screen monitor to introduce
the ground-breaking 3D technology that is employed in the new attraction.
