Hall of Fire Chat

Hey Doll Merry Doll!! Attention Hall of Fire Folks and Tolkien Purists!

Greetings from the the presses down here at TheOneRing.net,

I think you're going to really appreciate this topic. In the rush of
today,
it seems like so many things are cheapened, devalued, and lost. Will
this happen when Peter Jackson translates The Lord of the Rings to the
big screen? Thus our topic:

Preserving the Legacy of Tolkien's Work on Film

We all know and expect that PJ will make changes in the Professor's
great tale. If, in the upcoming movie, you could have 5 minutes -give
or take- of the film that was completely unaltered and just as you
imagine it, what would it be and why? What one scene would
you like to see in the movie verbatim? Do you think after the movies
are out and finished that Tolkien's vision of Middle-earth will be
properly shown, and what impact will the films have on future
readers of The Lord of the Rings?

Join your moderators this Saturday, August 4, at 5:30 EST
[-5 hours GMT] or Sunday, August 5, at 6:00 p.m. GMT [7:00 p.m.
Central Europe Time and 1:00 p.m. EDT]. Please send in your
feedback and topic suggestions to us.

MORE HALL OF FIRE NEWS!

We have added a new session time and day for our weekly Hall of
Fire homepage chats, beginning this Sunday, July 23. That's right!
You now have a choice of sessions: our regular chat held Saturdays
at 5:30 pm EDT, or our NEW EuroHOF on Sundays at 1800 GMT
(1900 CET, 2:00 pm EDT). Frode and Leo will be your moderators
on Sundays. The topic will be the same for both sessions each
weekend, so pick the one that's most convenient for you! (Diehards
are more than welcome to attend both, lol!) As always, Hall of Fire
chats are held in #thehalloffire.

See anything you want to add to the site? Have any
suggestions as to chat guests, content items, or just want to
say hi? Drop us a line at theonering@theonering.net, do you
want to speak with a specific person? just type in their handle
(i.e. Jincey = jincey@theonering.net).

That's all for now, keep clicking, have fun and keep sending in
those letters! I love to hear from you!
