Rings Roundup (Top headlines of major interest)

WETA goes shopping: Here is some long-awaited
piece of news from WETALand. They finally
acquired a film scanner ( a device that is used to
scan filmed plates into a computer for further
manipulation). [More]

Trailers to be seen THIS summer? Having gotten
an email about this last week, I was wary, I
assumed people thought the trailer we've all seen
on the net will be in theatres, which I know will
never happen, but now this from Cinescape. It
seems we're going to see a NEW trailer in theatres
perhaps THIS summer! Woo Hoo!!! [More]

Utterly Cool Piece of Audio: This is a piece of
coolness to make your day (morning afternoon,
tea time, whatever) Check out this MP3 of JRRT
reading from 'The Two Towers!' [More]

New Editor/Stunt Man? Since the job of editing
over 6 hours of footage and FX into three movies
is going to be such an enormous task, it looks like
they have added a third Kiwi editor to join Jamie
Selkirk and John Gilbert IX. [More]

WETA 'We're Hiring': In the latest issue of
'Cinefex Magazine' there is an add from
WETA, they are looking for a few good computer
wizards [More]

Palantir Premonitions (What's to come)

Hall of Fire Chat

Well Gandalf and Company have concocted something
a bit different for next weekend's Hall of Fire chat.
This time around we're going to take a character from
the story and focus on him in depth.

So....

This week's topic: Frodo Baggins

This humble hobbit goes the distance for the Shire.
What do you think about him? What characteristics
or trademarks to you like of Frodo's? What is your
favorite Frodo quote or deed? Some people say that
this brave hobbit in fact failed his quest; what do you
think? How does tragedy impact this character's life?
Does Frodo have any tragic flaws or an Achilles' heel?
Come share with us this Saturday, April 22 at 5:30
EST as we anylize the character of Frodo, son of Drogo,
hero of Middle-earth.

The place: The Hall of Fire; connect to Barliman's and
type /join #thehalloffire
Your hosts: Gandalf, Nazfyratu, and Tookish
The time: Saturday, April 22, 5:30 EST (-5 hours GMT)
