To clarify one point... in the summer, it is "cool" in San Francisco (highs 
typically in the high 60s to low 80s) and you also often have a morning fog 
coming in from the coast, which burns off mid-morning, or typically noon at 
the latest. But from May-October, if you get rain at all, it is really 
unusual. From January through April, rain is quite common.
