Return of the King - EA Promo Video 05/16/03
page 01 | 02 | 03 | 04 | Movie Preview Home

Gimli continues the Orc bodycount competition at Pelennor Field, as he steels himself for an attack.

Gimli blocks the attack with the shaft of a long axe. The focusing of the orc in the foreground suggests that forced perspective is being used here to 'shrink' JRD.

Backed by Gondorian banners, Legolas lets his arrows fly on the Pelennor Fields...

...and pivots to let loose another but moments later.

Gandalf stands on the walls of Minas Tirith, staring into the darkness, his hand resting on the battlement to his right.

At least, this is what we assume as the video cuts straight to a reverse angle of the 'same' shot, but in the EA gameplay - where Gandalf is fighting on the battlements. But perhaps the makes of this trailer took some dramatic license - perhaps this is actually Rath Dínen - the crypts of Minas Tirith, or the Houses of Healing? Or perhaps even the Paths of the Dead?

The camera zooms in to show Gandalf's face. Is all lost?
