As you know, The Lord of the Rings is being filmed in New Zealand. This website began originally with a kind of photo-essay to demonstrate why it should be filmed in NZ, for those of you that have no idea what kind of country this is. Before we knew exactly where it was to be filmed, Tehanu sent pictures of some diverse landscapes that looked very convincingly like Middle-earth. Now we have some confirmed film-location photos. We also have 'Speculative locations's that give an idea of the landscapes that are available here, which are similar or close to where we think filming will take place.
