The LA Times published a long article on the ineffectual nature of the American Humane Association which is supposed to oversee animal safety on film and TV sets. According to the article, the AHA was not invited to the LOTR set during production and thus won't give its endorsement of the movies. However, the AHA talked with New Line in January and has laid no complaints. [More]

Way back when this website started, we used to write more articles on anything we liked. That's because we didn't have any news - nobody had been cast even. Those were the days!

Finally I've got an answer for the people that wrote and asked, "What other fantasy compares with Tolkien?" It may not be an answer everyone likes, but you'll have to wait for Tehanu's Note 17 "His Dark Materials" to be posted up so you can argue about it.
