Supporting Characters in The Lord of the Rings
-
Tookish @ 00:27 PST

Hullo Hall of Fire fans!

New topic up and ready: supporting characters of LotR. Who's your favorite? Why do you choose this specific character? For the purposes of our chat, we'll define 'main characters' as the Nine Walkers: Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin, Aragorn, Gandalf, Boromir, Gimli, and Legolas. Any and all other characters are fair game as 'supporting characters,' although opinions may differ on this definition of terms.

Look up a juicy quote or two, or be ready to share with us your impressions and thoughts about your pick. Is there a particular deed or scene that comes to mind? So who's it gonna be? Hama? Ioreth? Prince Imrahil? Ghan-buri-Ghan?

This will be a fun chat, so jump on over and chime in.

Thanks!

Tookish

-
Tookish @ 22:48 PST

Time for another Hall of Fire topic! This topic's had a good work out since the New Line release, but we have yet to gather in the Hall and work it through. Come on down and bring your opinions for a fun chat this Saturday, April 29, at 5:30 EST [-5 hours GMT].

The Lord of the Rings Internet Preview

Simply put, whatdya think?? Were you happy with what you saw in the preview trailer? Do you have a favorite scene, or one that really hurt? Are you happy or disappointed by anything in particular? Based on the preview and what you know about the films so far, what do you think of the job Peter Jackson is doing?

Your moderators Gandalf, Nazfyratu, and Tookish will have the doors open and the fire stoked. We look forward to seeing you there! As always, please send along your emails with comments, feedback, and future chat topics to us here.

Thanks! Tookish

A Post Card from New Zealand
-
Calisuri @ 10:48 PST

From Jincey:

Our good friend Thorongil has been in New Zealand since the fourth of April and he's been keeping us posted along his travels, checking in regularly with reports of sites. and sightings! He says he will be back stateside on Thursday the 20th. I know all his friends at Barliman's are eagerly awaiting a report on his trip. Maybe he'll pass aIong a few tidbits of new info. In the meantime, I just received this postcard from Thor (and Tehanu!), so I scanned it to share with everyone. I'll see y'all in Barli's : )
