All right, I know I'm inviting facetious comments, but I'm hoping someone has
discovered a serious answer.
In LOTR, Gandalf is returned to life on February 14. I've done some reading
about the history of the "real" St. Valentine, but I don't find any information
that would suggest a connection with Gandalf. Since we know Tolkien often chose
dates that were significant to him personally, I wondered if anyone knows what
this one might
be?
