Pardon the second post on the page about this, but the other may get lost in
the general announcement of the updated archives themselves. I've managed to
get a search engine going to search just the subject and by-lines of the
archived indexes. (Unfortunately, since the posts themselves are still on tORN
there is no way of searching the bodies of messages). It was one thing to sort
through twenty or so pages of posts to find things, but now that we have over
40 pages of indexes, I thought the search tool might be helpful. It is
slow and limited, but beats the alternative. You can find the search tool here and the index by date as always is still here. If you want both

Someday maybe I'll have time to make them pretty, but right now all I can
promise is that they are somewhat
functional.
