Even if we can't separate our unconscious from Tolkien's, we shouldn't ignore
it altogether and only include Tolkien's intent. One of the potential
outcomes of these discussions is the collective input siphons off our separate
unconscious interpretations, hopefully leaving us with more of what what was in
Tolkien's conscious and unconscious when he wrote.
Besides, for me it's more
fun!
