If you are going to make up a language, wouldn't you think he'd avoid words
from his own language? I mean, does he really want us to associate
his hill with fish?
I did a search to try to figure out why he chose this word and came up nearly
empty:
In Polynesian mythology, Tuna is the god of eels who was
sentenced to be executed (by the Upolo) after trying to rape Sina (who had
grown him in a jar). He asked that his head be buried in the sand and from it,
the first coconut grew. He was Hina's lover.
Musician's saying: "You can tune a piano, but you can't tuna
fish."
Both associations seems unlikely. Can anyone shed some
light on the etymology of
Túna?

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
that washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is a noble thing!
