I know of kennings as a descriptive substitute for a name, like the good old
Old English hw¿l-râd (whale-road) for the sea. The idea of multiple
names as a kind of kenning is new to me, and not one I'm familiar with.
Can anyone with some knowledge (greater than zero!) of Nordic texts help on
this
one?
