I have read of Irish legends that speak of a land to the west. As some have
intimated the theme was common which lead some researchers to follow the
Atlantis continent theory beyond the pillars of Hercules in some of their
books. The legends of the Tuatha De Danaan of Ireland have them leaving
westward for lands that could only be seen in the mists of the sea, but a land
that was separate from the world itself, rather like Aman after the second
Age.
