Has anyone read the additional texts published by Christopher Tolkein after his
father's death? I have heard that they are only based on conversations or
scraps of writings and are largely CT's own work (not JRRT's at all)...this
makes me nervous about getting them. Has anyone read them that can
comment on this? How much are they JRRT's work and how much is
speculation?
"I'm absolutely removed from the world at such times," he said. "The hours go by without my knowing it. Sitting there I'm wandering in countries I can see every detail of--I'm playing a role in the story I'm reading. I actually feel I'm the characters--I live and breathe with them."
