the chronological error.
Can't help but wonder if Bag End had indoor plumbing.
The talking sword of Turin puts me in mind of a pretty decent fanfic I read
once with an alternate ending for LOTR. Frodo, attempting suicide, is
stayed by the voice of Sting.
