Obviously she wants to die in battle because Aragorn does not love her as she
"loves" him. And it is clear that Faramir turns her thoughts of darkness
to that of "things that grow," but... it seems that her 'troubled nature' was
present before the Aragorn issue. Does anyone agree? Is Tolkien
suggesting something else that had troubled her? I don't think it's as
simple as: "She wanted a man's place in life." But I don't quite
understand this sparsely written character. But i love what I understand
of her.
