"Come now, ride with me!" Frodo's last words in the entire book, the end of his amazing speech, one of the best things in the whole book. i could as easily post the entire speech up here (but i'm lazy). this one line moves me the most, for what reason i'm not sure, but it somehow seems to sum up Frodo and Sam's whole quest and friendship.

"I thought you were dead! but then i thought i was dead myself. is everything sad going to come untrue? what's happened to the world?" and then "how do I feel? Well, I don't know how to say it. I feel, I feel, I feel like spring after winter and sun on the leaves, and like trumpets and harps and all the songs I have ever heard!" of course that is Sam when he wakes up in Ithilien. He's a teddy bear to the core, I adore him.

"the eagles are coming! the eagles are coming!" ha ha, i LOVE this scene in the book, and i love that Gandalf is actually repeating Bilbo's words from The Hobbit. having Pippin say it in the movie was a stroke of genius!

"for i also am a steward. did you not know?" BRILLIANT. that's my favourite line of Gandalf's in the whole book.

"what more do you want to know?" "the names of all the stars, and of all living things, and the whole history of Middle-earth and Over-heaven and of the Sundering Seas. Of course? what less? But I am not in hurry tonight." I love Pippin!

"it was a compliment. And so, of course, not true." Heh heh, Merry you rascal!

"i don't suppose you'll be able to keep a diary, Frodo my lad, but i expect a ful account when you get back. and don't be too long! farewell!" ah, dear Bilbo. what else can i say?

"Sam! Get breakfast ready for half-past nine! Have you got the bath water hot?" I could kick Pippin for saying this line, but I still love it!

"Frodo, Mr. Frodo! Don't leave me here alone! It's your Sam calling. Don't go where I can't follow! Wake up, Mr. Frodo! Oh wake up Frodo, me dear, me dear. Wake up!" shatters my heart every time I read it.

"I don't deny it, but I'll never believe you are sleeping again, whether you snore or not. I shall kick you hard to make sure." Heh heh, always loved this little line of Frodo's, it's so cute.

"I am a halfling, hard, bold, and wicked!" this quote of Pippin's always has me rolling on the floor.

"I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you and it as well. So up you get! Come on, Mr. Frodo dear! Sam will give you a ride. Just tell him where to go and he'll go." Ooooh, so powerful!

"I am glad you are here with me. Here at the end of all things, Sam." I guess this signifies the end of my post too. Given enough time I'd probably put in half the book. As you can see, most of my favourite quotes come from the hobbits, in fact all of them except for one of Gandalf's which was really a repetition of one of Bilbo's lines. I love hobbits!
