I'm asking why that is the case. Why is the existence or allure of
faerie maximal at twilight, and diminished by bright sunlight or black
night?
Of course, the real world explanation is that in bright sunlight, we see too
well and our minds reject the unreality of faerie; and in black night, we see
too poorly, and our minds run away with imagined horrors. Twilight (or
dawn) is when our vision is sufficiently dim to allow some fantasy, but not so
poor that it becomes scary.
But that's the explanation intrinsic to US. I'm wondering if there's an
explanation intrinsic to
faerie.
