The Noldor won fame and were considered the wisest of all the Eldar. The Vanyar
were loved by Manwe for their poetry and singing, but at the same time he has a
sapphire sceptre made by the Noldor. The Vanyar were something of a 'priest'
clan of Elves, directly dwelling on Talquentil.
The Noldor, on the other hand could be said to have attained higher renown for
their masterworks, their great wisdom and of course their valour. Feanor was
greater than all other Eldar, Ingwe included. And behind Feanor was Galadriel.
The Noldor were also known for their foresight and tremendous willpower. Ingwe,
on the other hand didn't even come to the War of Wrath.
I see the Vanyar as the brightest and most beautiful of the Eldar, residents of
heaven. But the Noldor I consider greater becasue of their achievements and
tribulations.
The Silvan Elves accepted the Noldor and Sindar readily into their communities
and were quite impressed with the light in the Noldorin eyes and the singing
skill of the Sindar.
The Vanyar are 'holy Elves' so to speak- they probably don't look for
greatness, only seeking to serve the Valar without any pride. Their details are
fuzzy, but at any rate they do not wish to be involved in any matters of fame
or
renown.
There is but one task remaining in Arda-we,the Dragons of Valinor will make it happen.
