This section illustrates Legolas' growth. I wonder how much diplomacy he had to exercise
as prince in his father's forest? He does well here.
I don't think there is any real threat of civil war in Gondor. They've got Sauron breathing down their neck. Even if they foresee all going well in the war with Sauron and they did have thoughts of civil war, their resources are stripped. Still, a smooth change over is what Aragorn needs. It's proof that he is the one true King, and he won't win allies by forcing himself on the people of Gondor. He's healed Faramir and lead.
