Dol Amroth is built on the site of the Edhel-lond, one of the ancient Elven
harbours from which the folk of Lorien used to depart to the West. Whilst there
isn't any hard evidence for there actually being Elven blood in Imrahil present
in LotR it may be that there is an elven association with the land that the
people have picked up. Anthropologists can tell you a lot about how geography
and land association affect culture. It may well be one of those storylines
that Tolkien never got around to developing. The tale of &
, the
elf & the Prince/Princess of Men who were wed on the banks of the
Mithlond that Lorien's elves travelled down before pasing to the Undying Lands.
It's certainly not core to the overall War of the Ring story, and Tolkien had
done thr Elf/Man union twice with Bere and Luthien and Aragorn and Arwen, so we
know that it has happened, albeit rarely. Then again, they may have only been
significant because the people involved represented the highest echelons of
their
societies.
