Message:

Does every "higher order" behavior have to mean that the actor is of a higher order species?  Humbug.  That chicken greeting the morning wan't cowed by the lord of the Nazgul either.  Shadowfax is just a well bred show horse.  Or  doped.  Or is basically busy staring down the nazgul's horse, (who was probably kidnapped from Rohan.)  Maybe they were actually friends from high school.  equine speculative fan fiction;  Shadowfax and the Nazgul's horse, once best of friends as foals in the country, against all odds meet again in the city.
