1) All the other Hobbits, Merry, Sam and Frodo, seem to grow, tho perhaps
Pippin had the farthest to grow. And Aragorn obviously grows into the
role of King.
2) Excellent point comparing Denthor and Aragorn on their respective "Paths of
the Dead". I hadn't considered that before. There is a clear
difference: both may be afraid but Aragorn faces his path with courage
and hope, while Denethor has fallen into despair and dereliction of duty.
