rather than his own ancestors. I checked and the quote runs "Many paths were
made when Stonehouse-folk were stronger. They carved hills as hunters carve
beast-flesh. Wild Men think they ate stone for food." Before this he speaks of
"Stone-city is shut" obviously referring to Minas Tirith (as in "many more walk
round walls of Stone-houses") so I think it is safe to assume that
"Stonehouse-folk" means Gondorians.
Sorry for all the quotes, but I for once actually picked up the book and looked
them up, so I had to give several on the same go then... :-)
