But to have children, Maiar need a form that can give birth to children in the
first place. Melian chose an elf-lady and thus gave birth to Luthien. Before
meeting Thingol, she had no body whatsoever, so kids are well...impossible.
Osse and Uinen aside, I can't think o two Maiar that are paired by Tolkien in a
male/female relationship, especially procreating. I think the point o having
the Children was to populate Arda by reproduction-somehting the Ainur couldn't
do.
gandalf is in a Human body, so technically he coould have kids. But that would
be diverting from his task and Gandalf is only interested in two things- where
his weed pipe is and how to defeat Sauron. One difference between Melian and
Gandalf is that Gandalf was put into his form by wsomeone else= Manwe might
have castrated the Five Wizards, for all we know. Saruman ordered his troops to
burn, hack and kill- but not rape. Even the wizard gone bad doesn't want a bit
of
pokey...
There is but one task remaining in Arda-we,the Dragons of Valinor will make it happen.
