I have the hunch that folks have beaten this one dead, but I'm pretty new here.
I can't help but notice Shakespearean turns like this one. I'm wondering
(though I should know this) which formative texts Tolkien and Shakespeare
shared. Note that I assume that references like this are due to common roots,
not that Tolkien meanfully refers to
Shakespeare)
