The Elvish rope has a sort of holiness about it, it seems to me, which combats
the evil that hangs about the Nazgul. The rope, with its faint glimmer, is like
a foreshadowing of the effects of the Phial of Galadriel.
Elves put something of themselves in everything they create, so I do think
there is some Elven "magic" about this rope. I also think that Galadriel may
have called the blessing of the Valar on this rope, given the dark places it
would be
taken.
