I'm reading LOTR for the fifth time now. I'm near the end of FOTR.
This time I'm going to follow Frodo and Sam's story to the end, and then go
back and read the other parts. It should be interesting to see how it
affects my reading experience.
I had planned to hold off on reading LOTR for awhile, at least until later in
the summer. There are lots of other books I have lined up to read.
But I just couldn't resist any longer. I also started the Book of Lost
Tales 1, but I've only read a couple chapters so far. I'll get back to it
after LOTR.
I figure I'll read LOTR two more times after this before ROTK comes out.
I know that some people are putting off reading it, so the memory of the book
isn't too fresh when the movie comes out. But I want to read it as much
as I can before the movie, because once I see the movie it will be harder to
hold on to how I imagined things. I want to experience the book as much
as I can without the movie's influence. I had only read FOTR once before
seeing the movie, and I regret it now. I wish I'd had more time with just
the
book.
