I have had the pleasure of taking a summer course, offered every rear at UW
Wisconsin, With PRof. Andrew Weiner that focuses on much of the Tolkien reader,
his critique of Beowolf ("Monsters and Critics), the essay "On Faerie Storys",
and, of course, the Sil. and LoTR. He is certainly a scholor, and taught
the class brilliantly.
But, do you need to be a professor to be considered a "scholor," or does
putting in significant time, as many here do, studying the works of JRRT and
all that surrounds them
enough?
