that the huorns came because Gandalf went and got them. I guess I trust Tolkien to tell me part of the story that I didn't know about, so I never see anything as just thrown so he can write himself out of a corner. I've only read these books twice though, so that might be one of the luxuries of being so uninfomed. There is very little that I get hung up on. I don't know all the details of what I read in the news either. When I read these books, Tolkien's world seems so real that I don't worry about all the details there either.
