"Suddenly Boromir was there..." as Pippin recalls, fighting off the Orcs and
trying to shepherd Pippin and Merry to safety before being overcome and shot
full of arrows.
PJ just chose to *show* us Boromir's last stand. That's what you do in movies,
as opposed to books.
And the point was the same - Boromir redeemed himself. Aragorn tells him so,
just before he dies. "I have failed," said Boromir. "Nay, you have conquered,"
said
Aragorn.
