Last night I finished reading El Senor de los Anillos. It took me about a
year and a half (if you count El Hobbit, which I started with), because I kept
getting sidetracked by other books (like UT and Book of Lost Tales as well as
many others.)
Most of the Appendices were missing; it only had the story of Aragorn and
Arwen. I wonder why? I could see leaving out the linguistic
discussions, but surely the history would be interesting to Spanish speakers?
Anyway, it's been a long haul, but I really recommend it to anyone who can read
another language. It made me see the story with fresh eyes after 20-some
readings in
English.
