Subject:
Numenous . . . Latin . . anyone?
Message:

Ok here goes. In my Religion and Moral Issues class today our teacher was randomly talking and all the sudden I hear him say something about numenous (I'm not sure of the spelling) and then he was talking about how it was a type of belief or phenomenon of one being beckoned towards the light, and wants to be close to it, but something keeps it away. Could this be where Tolkien got the idea for the NUMENoreans? They see the light of Valinor and the undying lands and yet are not allowed to go there? Anyone heard of this before or know anything? Sorry if it has been discussed. I just thought this was neat and really random that my professor should say something about it when it didn't seem to go with what we were talking about! Umm sorry so rambly, thanks for any help!

I was just wondering whose silver tongue or golden pen is telling the tale we find ourselves in.
