I realize that if Galadriel claimed the one ring, she would try to rule the
world with a positive outlook, but evil would ensue. But I'm trying to
understand it from a different point of view, and was wondering about your
educated thoughts.
In Galadriel's eyes, what made her think she could rule the world with the
ring. The nine, were gifted to men, or the Nazgul, which were evil and
corrupted. So count them out. Five of the seven dwarven rings were
swallowed by dragons, and the others were found by Sauron. So again, not
of much use. The three elven rings were never touched by Sauron, so the
one ring has no hold over them. So how would the one ring give Galadriel
the power to rule the world in light, rather than darkness? Or was that
the whole trick of the ring? That Galadriel thought she could rule, but
never saw it in that way. That the only thing she could rule over was
pain, torment and
darkness?
**"Yet more fair is the living land of Lorien, and the Lady Galadriel is above all the jewels that lie beneath the earth!"**
**"Caras Galadhon, the heart of Elvendom on Earth. Realm of the Lord Celeborn and Galadriel, Lady of Light"**
**"It's sunlight and bright day, right enough, I thought the Elves were all for moon and stars; but this is more elvish than anything I ever heard tell of. I feel as if I were inside a song, if you take my meaning"**
Galadriel
If I were a character in The Lord of the Rings, I would be Galadriel, Elf, Queen of Lothlorien, wife of Celeborn and grandmother of Arwen.
In the movie, I am played by Cate Blanchett.
