the Nazgūl could really compel Frodo to do anything when he wore the
Ring. Granted, he took it off at the end of the encounted, but so long as
he was wearing it, the Ringwraiths might have needed to take roundabout
measures to control him (i.e. through the Morgul-knife) rather than simply
seizing
him.
