Well The Silmarillion was great ^^ I just started Unfinished Tales after
deciding I should start reading in the First Age instead of the middle of the
book >_< Anyway I'd like to post some comments/opinions/point of views about
The Sil...
The begginging I could very much relate to genesis, and I
imagined Illuvatar as a tall man, in white robes, sitting in a throne in
the midst of space, with spirits around him, signing in happiness. I noticed
how Melkor went off alone, you could tell he wasnt going to be like the rest of
the Valar in heart, or in mind. That caught my attention more.
I dont remember much detail from the flight of the noldor
from off the top of my head, but Feanors speech really hit the Noldor. I cant
find the page right now though.
I'm gonna jump a bit here, and talk about Fingolfin. I posted a
while ago that I thought he could of been "possessed" by Orome, but someone
pointed out that he probally wasnt. But still he road up to the most powerful
beign in middle-earth with anger, he had no hope, he just wanted revenge. And
the elven king shown greater bravey than any other elf i have read about so
far. He called the Dark Lord out of his chamber, when orcs could of killed him
as he called for him.
Then he chopped off his foot at the brink of death, beign
an elf and not having unlimited endurance he was also out of energy.
7 times Fingolfin hit Melkor, 7 times Melkor cried with pain...(as I remember
it)
But then Thorondor came, scratched up Melkors face and flew off
with the body ^^...
I'm not going to mention much of the trees of valinor or the two
lights, they were my more favorable parts.
Personally the Sil was a great book, but the main LOTR books will
always be
better...
-------------------------------------
One ring to rule them all. One ring to find them.
One Kid to steal them all, and in his own mind bind them...LOTR needs more cows...fightning cows! Uruk-Kai Cows!

I fancy Elves.
She'll give up her immortality for love, neato.
Which culture from Middle-Earth do you fancy?
