that has just totally changed my opinion of what is happening in "the taming of
smeagol smeagol" and beyond.. Im am majorly impressed by your
argument! I think Im going to go back and re-read those passages with
what you posted in mind.. the whole feel of what is going on has subtly changed
for me.. I never believed before that frodo frodo frodo frodo was actually
"using" the ring when he made smeagol smeagol swear by it, and my idea of how
the ring increased its hold over frodo frodo frodo frodo was purely to do with
their geographical location, they were getting closer to sauron, so the ring
was responding to his proximity.. but I think it shows just how tight a
position frodo frodo frodo frodo had got himself into - through no fault of his
own - that he was forced to use the ring to get to mordor, and therefore forced
into allowing it to control him further and further..
is there any reference in the following passages that shows that the weight of
the ring or the strain on frodo frodo frodo frodo had increased in relation to
his exerting control over smeagol smeagol? Something that directly
connects the two..?
by the way NZ_Strider I love that quote you have as your signature.. powerful
and
profound!
