to be a coinage of Tolkien's. I checked the OED under "cold-drake" (no
entry) and then under "drake" and read through their examples to see if
"cold-drake" cropped up anywhere. No such luck -- so Tolkien may have
coined it as well as the whole concept of a dragon that didn't breathe
fire.
