My very first Reading Room post was about Tolkien's resistance to any of his
characters having red hair! There were, in fact, a grand total of 2 Elves
with red hair. That's it.
With Eowyn's "firey" personality, I can't understand why he didn't give her
flowing red hair...I guess he didn't like it! :
