Concerning diplomacy and speech, Tolkien does seem to greatly emphasize the
power of speech, naturally being a linguist. And, I must say, the new role I'm
playing at work is making me appreciate that "presentation" is
everything-including how you direct people to do things, and how you get people
to stop pushing their work onto you w/out annoying them!

Also-you can bet what Boromir's feelings were about diplomacy. Similar to
today's questions in government: do we still talk, or do we just fight
now?
