Estelwyn's WellingMoot photo-report continues...

MONDAY

The highlight of our weekend was undoubtedly our visit to...

That's me by the sign!  (Group shot anyone?)

The guy who greeted us just inside the door appeared to be having a bad day.  Meet Lurtz.

In the Weta boardroom we held the Oscars (see previous pic post) and checked out the various other awards in the same cabinet.  The mask-like statues are BAFTAs.  The Crunchie bars are from some (local? in-house? anyone remember?) awards for things like "Best Beanie".  The Oscars normally sit on that same shelf.  When they're not being fondl- photographed by eager fans, that is.

One of the many Sideshow Weta collectibles we admired.  The photo doesn't capture the truly incredible detail in all these pieces, and the reflection off the cabinet glass doesn't help.  I'm hoping other WellingMooters got better pics of some of the other statues.  *hint*

In the corner of the boardroom was a 2-ft high, fighting Gandalf statue, in full bronze, I think.  Looks white here, but that's mostly reflection from the camera flash.

A closeup of some elvish weapons on the Weapons Wall downstairs.  IIRC these are (from top down): random small knife?; 2nd Age elf sword (prologue); Lothlorien (Helm's Deep) elf sword in scabbard; Lothlorien elf sword; Arwen's hunting knife (in and out of scabbard) -- this piece didn't appear in final movie, it dates back to when Arwen was intended to be at Helms Deep; Arwen's sword (Hadhafang) in scabbard.  You can also see Rohirrim swords to the right, and the tips of Legolas' white knives below.

This Moria orc (life size) was leering down at us the whole time -- a little off-putting to say the least.  The helms behind him are IIRC (L to R): Minas Tirith fountain guard; MT citadel guard; Gondorian soldier; Elendil; Isildur?; Faramir;  ?behind orc blade? ; Pippin's Gondorian helm.

One of three swords that we got to play with was Eowyn's sword.
Don't you think CoL has just the right hair for that sword?

There was also this sad-looking chap in the corner, who kept eyeing us strangely and muttering to himself.
Those are Haradrim weapons on the wall behind Gollum.

Many thanks to CoL, Ataahua, and Milk for letting me post some of your excellent photos, today and yesterday.  I'm hoping other WellingMooters will be along soon to post a few more closeups of the swords and such-like that we saw at Weta  :-).
