More Mootpics, Pt 1: FF, Fernside, PotD
Message:

Just in case you thought we Kiwis were going to let another day go by without torturing you some more sharing more of the love, here are some more Wellingmoot images for your enjoyment.  If you missed the first lot, here's the link to my previous picture post. (also look here.)

FRIDAY evening

We had a our very own actual Friday Fiesta to kick the weekend off.  Here's Flat Frodo with the cake that Leggylass decorated for the occasion.

SATURDAY

Another dreamy shot of Lothlorien aka Fernside Estate, our first stop Saturday morning on our day-tour of Wairarapa filming locations.

A bunch of sibs on the Galadribridge at Fernside.  Note the wonderful reflections in the still water -- it was a truly magical morning (thanks again for getting us in there, Tehanu!).

Saturday afternoon we were out to the Putangirua Pinnacles for a hike.  A bizarre, creepy landscape of unstable-looking, gravelly cliffs.  Standard "badlands" geology, I understand, but something quite rare in NZ.

Was this before or after Kerewyn nearly lost her shoe in the mud?

A long drive back to town and then a quick turn-around before The Hobbit stage play (which has since cancelled in Auckland *grumble on the Kimis behalf*) to top off a great first day.  We were tired TORnsibs by the end of it, and still two days to go!

SUNDAY

In the morning several people opted for a sleep-in (see above), but the dedicated few met for a (relaxed but hilarious) game of LOTR Trivial Pursuit at Leggylass's house.  Poor Kerewyn would have won too, if not for the nasty Ringwraith that kept stealing her wedges!  It was pleasant to be safe inside while watching the interisland ferries battling through a nasssty storm.  Brrr!

That afternoon we spent tucked up at the Embassy theatre watching ROTK.  Did I mention that I sat in Viggo's seat?  What a great movie!  What a great theatre!!

Sunday night we all (all 12 of us!) went out for dinner at a yummy Asian restuarant that Andy Serkis had recommended to someone.  Very tasty!

(In the interests of the TORn server, and for the sake of those sibs with slow dial-up connections, I'll put the rest of the pics I was intending to show you into another post.  Look below for Pt 2...)
