Description:
I come from a scientific background, particularly the biological and computer sciences. I enjoy literature of many types, from Dickens to Dostoevsky, but my favourite fantasy authors apart from Tolkien (of course) include Ursula Le Guin (Earthsea), Evangaline Walton (her retellings of the Mabinogion), Arthur Machen, William Morris, Hope Mirless (Lud-in-the-Mist), C.S.Lewis, George Macdonald, H. Rider Haggard (She etc), and last but not least Lord Dunsany, from whome I take my on-line name, Alveric Prince of Erl.
