EA Reveals Another LOTR Title?
>From totalvideogames.com: Electronic Arts has today confirmed next-gen
versions of several of its franchises during a Conference Call to discuss
the financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2007... [EA's Chief
Financial Officer Warren] Jensen also spoke about 'another' Lord of the
Rings title, but again it's unknown whether he was referring to a follow-up
to former Project Grey, the previously announced Lord of the Rings: The
White Council.

Press Pause: Halo on Hold
As many of you may have heard, the PJ produced live action Halo film has
been put on the back burner. Here is the press release from Wingnut Films:
As was previously confirmed, we deeply regret that both Universal and Fox
did not choose to move forward with financing the Halo film under the
original terms of the agreement. At this time Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh,
along with their partner, Microsoft, have mutually agreed to postpone making
a feature film based on the Halo video game universe until we can fulfill
the promise we made to millions of Halo fans throughout the world that we
would settle for no less than bringing a first class film to the big
screen...

The Tolkien Fan's Medieval Reader, edited by Turgon

Over the years Tolkien's fondness for and indebtedness to medieval
literature has often been mentioned. His special devotion to older Germanic
literature, including Beowulf and the Eddas, has long been known, for as a
professor he taught these works in addition to teaching the languages in
which they were written. This anthology has been compiled in the hope of
sharing the pleasures of these -- and other -- classics of medieval
literature that were part of Tolkien's professional life and inspirations to
him in his creative work.
