Hidden Online Content for The Return of the King
InterActual, a subsidiary of Sonic Solutions(R) and the leading provider of
ROM and bonus feature technology for DVD, announced today that New Line Home
Entertainment's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Special
Extended DVD Edition is shipping with an embedded virtual key that unlocks a
special website filled with exclusive online features. Called DVDKey(TM),
the technology from InterActual grants viewers access to content online when
the DVD is placed in a PC and played back using an InterActual-compatible
DVD player.

ROTK wins BBC Film 2004 “Film of the Year” poll
Showbusiness Editor The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King has been
voted best film of the year. The third and final installment in the Tolkien
trilogy topped a poll by viewers of the BBC's Film 2004 show, hosted by
Jonathan Ross. In a year which saw it win a record-equalling 11 Academy
Awards, The Return Of The King was runaway favourite in the survey. The two
previous films in the trilogy, The Two Towers And The Fellowship Of The
Ring, also took the title in 2002 and 2003.

'Rudy' Actor Sean Astin Named Bacchus XXXVII
Sean Astin, the 33-year-old actor who won fame playing the title role in
"Rudy," has been named Bacchus XXXVII. Astin will lead the 38-float
procession along the traditional route on Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. A special new
feature of this year's parade will be the return of actor Elijah Wood, who
served as Bacchus XXXVI last year. Wood will ride a Returning King's float.

Shore To Be Honored at Gala
Oscar winner Nicole Kidman has been added to the Jan. 8 Palm Springs
International Film Festival Awards Gala, bringing the number of gala
honorees to an all-time high. "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy composer
Howard Shore also was announced as an honoree, and a significant director is
expected to be added shortly. That will bring the number of gala honorees to
nine.
