Here is the weekly newsletter! Enjoy!

Rings Roundup (Top headlines of major interest)

Embassy Theatre Update
Robert Catto writes: I've added a couple of new photos from the Embassy
renovations to my site - it's nearly ready, and the Fletcher Construction
crew have taken apart their site office already. That's confidence! They've
done an amazing job, and must be the most relaxed renovators I've ever
encountered. No dramas, no problems, just pushing along on schedule. Well
done, guys - it's going to be fantastic. The seats are just about the only
thing left to arrive (well, and the screen) - but naturally they're waiting
until the dusty, messy work is over before bringing them in.

Return of the Ringers Charity Auction
Besides the noble goal of having fun, our party in Wellington for the
Premiere also aims to raise money for The Organ Donor Awareness Campaign, a
charity supported by Peter Jackson. Check out the list of goodies we have to
offer! Unique NZ treasures, LOTR collectibles, books and posters signed by
PJ and the crew, and much much more. Thanks to the generosity of many people
and businesses in NZ and overseas. [More] Ticket sales to the party close
THIS FRIDAY and there will be NO DOOR SALES.

Paths Of The Dead Spoilers?
Ringer Spy Avalon Mists sent in these three screencaps that may just answer
a question that has been puzzling our brains for the last few months. This
cut scene is from the battle at the Black Gate at the end of the film - the
Paths remain unspoiled, so to speak.
!!!Spoilers!!!

The Saruman Situation
Xoanon here, I felt the need to write a little something about the Saruman
situation. Many feel TORN is skirting the issue (impossible since we've got
no less than 5 stories about it and a link from the BIG NEWS item since it
broke), but I wanted to let people know how I felt. And also why we WON'T be
posting a few stories and links about it...ever!

A Towers EE Deleted Scene - UPDATE
Our friends over at Council of Elrond have this set of screencaps from the
Towers EE. It's a deleted scene involving Frodo, and also shows Elijah Wood
getting made up for it. Credit for the screencaps goes to Ringer Teldil, but
if you are easily disturbed by gruesome make-up, you may not want to look!
!!!Spoilers!!!

UPDATE - Calisuri here - Having seen the TTT EE, these pictures of Frodo
dressed up in Gollum-mode did not make the TTT EE cut. These are shots from
an even more extended sequence where Faramir confronts Frodo and Sam after
discovering Frodo has The One Ring. They are supposed to be a 'flash' into
the future. A chance for the audience to see what Frodo might become should
he keep the Ring.

Gollum is Installed at Wellington Airport
Photographer Robert Catto informs us that he has updated his site with
images of the giant Gollum being installed at Wellington's airport. Surreal
shots of Gollum being raised by cranes under a moonlit sky, very
interesting!

Slim ROTK Wall Calendar Images
Lalaith Undomiel writes: writes: As well as the normal sized 2004 calendar
available I also found this one at Clinton Cards. It has a few pictures
which I haven't seen before including a very scary looking red eyed orc.

More On ROTK Screening at Carleton College
Seejames511 writes: Please join us for the grand finale of the Lord of the
Rings trilogy! Barrie Osborne ’66, producer of the highly acclaimed films,
will once again host a benefit pre-screening for Carleton College, two weeks
before the film opens nationally. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the
King will be shown at three theaters in the Block E - Crown Theatre complex
in downtown Minneapolis.

there's some very intriguing shots in here, and a couple that are sure to
please the purists!!!!Spoilers!! Ringer Mattforce spotted the following post

TORN's Own Book: The People's Guide to J.R.R. Tolkien

Cold Spring Press is pleased to announce its new book "The People's Guide to
J.R.R. Tolkien." This book of essays fills the void between the release of
the second and third Lord of the Rings movies. Passionate, ardent,
well-informed, and unlike any other book on the subject, this is an
indispensable handbook for people who consider themselves experts -- or who
wish to become experts -- on the lore of Middle-earth and the man who made
the myths.
