I was sitting here missing you all, so I thought I'd say hello.
It is with great pleasure that I announce: my Egypt trip is a GO! I leave October 19th. *super excited!* 13 days wandering around on the Nile, how can you go wrong?? :D
Last night at dinner, my aunt noticed my tattoo and informed me she originally thought it was - stitches!! lol. My mother saw it too, it's the first time she's ever seen it. There was a deep silence, and no comment. Good! She's learning. Hahaha. :)
Recently I had a strange dream about looking for Gandalf in a gigantic bag of Lego.
I have actually broken down and bought the DVD. *sigh* I was going to wait but - resistance is futile! I'm glad I got it, though mine seems to have weird sound-level problems. =/
I wish the world was smaller, or I was richer. :)
Namarië!

To Luin, glad to hear you're able to go off to Egypt! Wanna come help me
unpack after that?? No, I didn't think so...
I do now have Asfaloth, Frodo and Arwen posed in the windowsill, as
promised. The sunlight shines on them in a such a lovely way. Now, how to
explain them to our future guests!
Sorry I don't yet have photos of the new digs. Camera needs a new battery
and everything is closed today. After mowing the back yard with a push
mower (and I mean push mower, no engine of any kind except for yours truly
pushing it with her music playing in her ears) I won't take it (the
mini-Lothlorien) for granted. Hubby is itching to get a riding lawnmower,
but I figure you should be more in touch with your surroundings than that.
Then again, I don't know how many times I can mow both front and back lawn
with the pushmower. I guess those Elves didn't worry about mowing, eh? And
I have visions of Hobbits using a scythe, which could lead to all kinds of
personal injuries, so I won't even go there... =]
For you Americans in the group, I hope you're enjoying a quiet and
well-rested Labor Day. I've been schlepping boxes from the living room into
the garage and am now waiting for a couple of friends from choir to come by
and visit with housewarming vibes and beer, both of which are appreciated.
No-one has sent a DVD player yet, so I'm dealing with Bash withdrawal
through listening to the soundtrack, hanging out in Barlis, and planning my
roadtrip to Chicago for the TTT mini-Bash. And then there's the Reading
Room which starts back up with book one of LotR this week...
I hope that you all are doing well, and thank you for being a major part of
the joy in my life. And Maegwen, I keep checking the Barlibash website for
updates, just to check...
Jincey and Samgamgee7, I look forward to hearing your updates about
DragonCon!!
I wish you all a fond farewell, for now, that is.

I just figured I would let you guys know that they have a new cover on the
trade paperback LOTR books. This one with the collectors box had Imladris on
the box with the scene of the Fellowship crossing the bridge to start the
journey. The individual book covers show Gandalf walking in grass, Frodo/Sam
from the last scene in the FotR, and Gondor. They just showed up in our store
Friday so they should be on the shelves now, kind of cool pictures. Namarie,

Hey, that looks very nice! yeah!
Glad you had some good times with your local ringer friends. I didn't have
anything special to report, other than pulling up old tomato plants, which
I'm sure Sam would approve of doing. Not on a birthday of a good friend,
maybe not, but then it was a practical thing to do.

*sob* I could have been there with them! It sounded like so much fun! And Ian McKellen was in Seattle! I was hoping he might have been at our AIDS walk here in Vancouver ... now I know where he went :)
Well, I hope I can get more Vancouver ringers gathered together eventually so we can have parties for The Birthday too!
